This series provides a perfect balance of effort and ease by combining high-energy Yang-inspired asana with calming, Yin-style restoratives.
The purpose of beginning with the more vigorous asana is to mentally and physically prepare ourselves. The internal warmth we create allows our minds to focus and our bodies to ease into the deeper openings and slower movements of Yin. We’re able to better cultivate and explore flexibility, strength and range of motion.
Each full-length class cultivates stability and strength across your entire body. We begin with energizing, heat-building sequences that open up the hips, side body, shoulders or spine. As our flow transforms into a faster-paced asana, we play in backbends, simple arm balances or binds. In the second half of class, we slow down and unwind with Yin-focused postures that promote flexibility and range of motion. This structure allows us to experience both exertion and release in one fully comprehensive class.
