Pistol Progression 2

Now that you have the step up, we will perform a step up, but at the bottom, balance and hold the position without your back leg touching the ground.

1) Step up, and instead of stepping back, step sideways and slide down the box.
2) Notice that your foot isn't touching the ground.
3) From there, stand back up.

Remember that the knee position is slightly out and the foot on the box is completely flat. The goal is to learn how to balance in the bottom of the squat. The closer your foot is to the box, the more weight is on the front leg, and the more your mimicking your standing position.
