Lunge Progression 1

This is level I for lunging and we'll start by stepping back into a lunge and standing back up.

What I want you to focus on is:
1) Can you balance on one leg? Bring the center of mass on top of that new base of support.

2) Can you step back? Focus on bringing the front knee back. It should be slightly turned out and directly on top the foot.

3) Exaggerate the hinge in the hip that we talked about in Phase I. As you stand back up I want you to hinge forward and to the side a bit.

He successfully competed in artistic gymnastics for 15 years, becoming the Spanish National Champion in Vault. Whilst being a highly valued coach to many, Carl continues to be a student constantly refining his thinking and philosophy on movement expression through the art of bboying (break dancing).
