Austin Raye was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is a self taught acrobat - when he was 3, he was hooked on the Power Rangers. They're pretty much the ones he blames for what he does today.
After practicing martial arts for ten years came high school cheerleading, which truly opened his eyes to the world of being upside down. That was also when he had two knee surgeries. (ACL, MCL, PCL, Cartilage and Meniscus in his left and right knees.)
Austin's injuries put him out of commission for roughly 3 years, but his love of tumbling was still there. He had to relearn the movements, but this time the proper way: safety-first and injury-free. He knew he had mistakes that he had to change, and didn't hesitate to do so.
Today, Austin is STILL doing what he loves, and now teaches others as well. For him, this is even more gratifying because he gets to see people grow doing what he loves.
